Anthropic Ships Claude for SMBs + MCP Tunnels for Private Agents

Anthropic launches pre-built workflows for small businesses and a new way to connect Claude agents to private internal systems, while Copilot Studio adds computer-using agents GA, Colorado's AI law hits June 30, and the model price war keeps cutting your API costs.

The Morning Read

1. Anthropic Launches Claude for Small Business — 15 Ready-to-Run Workflows, No Extra Charge *(CX Today / pasqualepillitteri.it)*

Claude for Small Business is a preconfigured bundle of connectors and agentic workflows activated by a single toggle inside the Claude Cowork app on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Instead of handing a business owner a generic chat window, Anthropic built fifteen ready-to-use paths calibrated for tasks that consume the most time across finance, sales, marketing, operations, HR, and customer service.

The release includes connectors that allow Claude to work directly inside tools many SMBs already use, including PayPal, HubSpot, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.

What it means for SMBs / MSPs: This is the clearest on-ramp Anthropic has ever built for non-technical owners — pitch it to clients who've been waiting for something that "just works" out of the box, and position your firm around the custom workflow layer that's still consultant-territory.

2. Anthropic Claude Managed Agents Gets MCP Tunnels + Self-Hosted Sandboxes *(InfoQ / Anthropic Blog)*

Anthropic has expanded its Claude Managed Agents platform with two enterprise-focused capabilities: self-hosted sandboxes and MCP tunnels. The release aims to address a recurring challenge in enterprise AI deployments, where organizations want to use autonomous agents but cannot allow execution environments or internal systems to leave their security perimeter.

With MCP tunnels, agents reach MCP servers inside a private network without exposing them to the public internet — internal databases, private APIs, knowledge bases, and ticketing systems become tools agents can call via a lightweight gateway that makes a single outbound connection with no inbound firewall rules and end-to-end encryption.

What it means for SMBs / MSPs: If you've been blocked from connecting Claude to client ERP or ticketing systems, MCP tunnels eliminate the "we can't open a public endpoint" objection — request research preview access now before your competitors do.

3. Copilot Studio Computer-Using Agents Go GA + Real-Time Voice Lands in North America *(Microsoft Copilot Blog)*

Microsoft's May 2026 Copilot Studio update brings computer-using agents to general availability, plus redesigned workflows and Work IQ extensibility.

Copilot Studio is helping organizations move beyond rigid phone trees with real-time voice agents, now generally available in North America through Dynamics 365 Contact Center, enabling organizations to build more natural voice experiences that can identify callers, answer questions, and take action during conversations.

What it means for SMBs / MSPs: Computer-using agents can operate legacy desktop apps without API access — a legitimate unlock for clients on older line-of-business software that will never get a native AI connector.

4. Microsoft Adds 3-Year Copilot CSP SKU + M365 E7 "Frontier Suite" Now Available *(Microsoft Partner Center)*

A new three-year purchasing option for Microsoft 365 Copilot is now available in CSP, bringing Copilot in line with existing M365 E3 and E5 three-year SKUs to help partners support customers pursuing long-term AI transformation.

Microsoft 365 E7 is the Frontier Suite powered by Work IQ, bundling Microsoft 365 E5, Copilot, and Agent 365 into a single solution.

What it means for SMBs / MSPs:

The new three-year purchasing option supports larger, longer-term Copilot commitments and enables partners to attach high-value services across readiness, deployment, adoption, change management, governance, and optimization.

Run the math on 3-year vs. annual before your next renewal conversation.

5. Colorado AI Act Takes Effect June 30 — 31 Days Out *(Wilson Sonsini / ost.agency)*

The Colorado AI Act, slated to come into effect on June 30, 2026, places substantial new responsibilities on AI developers and deployers, including requirements to undertake reasonable care to avoid algorithmic discrimination, develop a risk management policy and program, implement notices, and conduct impact assessments.

Four exposure paths SMBs often miss: vendor chains — your SaaS vendor integrates an AI model, your HR platform uses a hiring screen, and your compliance automatically inherits their obligations the moment their system touches your data.

What it means for SMBs / MSPs: Any client using AI in hiring, credit, or healthcare decisions touching Colorado residents is 31 days from enforcement — pull their AI vendor list now and document it.

️ Tool or Feature to Try This Week

Claude for Small Business (Claude Cowork, Team Plan)

Claude for Small Business adds 15 vertical workflows runnable with one click inside Claude Cowork, calibrated for recurring tasks across finance, sales, marketing, HR, and customer service.

Every workflow includes configurable approval checkpoints for actions like sending wire transfers, signing contracts, or publishing public content — Claude proposes, the human decides.

  • Who it's for: SMB owners who want working AI automation, not a blank chat box; MSP techs evaluating Anthropic as a client deployment option.
  • How long a first test takes: 30–45 minutes to connect one integration (e.g., QuickBooks or HubSpot) and run a workflow end-to-end.
  • First step: Upgrade or start a Claude Team trial at claude.ai, open Claude Cowork, and toggle on the Small Business skills bundle — then fire the monthly close or sales follow-up workflow on real data.
Put It to Work

List the internal systems you'd want AI to reach, such as ticketing or file shares, and rank them. Anthropic's MCP tunnels connect Claude to private systems with no open firewall ports and encrypted traffic. Before any pilot, know which one system would save the most time. Starting with one keeps the risk small and the result easy to measure.

*For MSPs:* A two-hour scoping call to map which internal systems would add the most value as MCP tools is a natural first step.

One Thing to Avoid

Don't treat Claude for Small Business as a "fully on-prem" or fully self-contained solution for regulated-data clients.

Orchestration, context management, and error handling still run on Anthropic's servers — orchestration metadata still flows through Anthropic even when tool execution stays local, meaning self-hosted sandboxes are not fully on-premise deployment, and if a client's compliance requirement is that nothing touches external infrastructure at all, this does not fully solve that problem yet.

Verify the data boundary with your compliance or legal contact before deploying in healthcare or finance.

Trend to Watch

MSPs are quietly becoming the AI governance layer for SMBs — and that's a bigger business than helpdesk.

MSPs already have something most AI vendors want and cannot easily build: trusted access into the SMB technology environment — often including admin rights, endpoint access, SaaS integrations, procurement influence, and business continuity responsibility. SMBs generally do not have the internal capacity to manage AI transformation, AI governance, security operations, identity, SaaS posture, and workflow automation on their own. If AI agents become part of the workforce, somebody has to manage the operating environment around them — identity, permissions, logging, workflow access, data boundaries, compliance, security, and incident response all have to extend from human employees to semi-autonomous systems.

The MSPs who define that operating model now will own a defensible, recurring-revenue position that a simple helpdesk contract can't compete with.
