Salesforce Moves 37 Sales Workflows Inside Claude

A Salesforce in Claude beta brings pipeline, account research and CRM updates into Claude under existing permissions, as Apple starts its Gemini-built Siri and Perplexity runs agents locally on Windows.

The Morning Read

Salesforce in Claude enters beta with 37 sales skills (Anthropic) The plugin, built with Salesforce, brings a seller's accounts, opportunities and pipeline into Claude. It covers account research, call prep, deal scoring, pipeline reviews and post-call CRM updates. Claude inherits each seller's existing Salesforce permissions and asks for approval before writing any change by default. A Salesforce admin requests access through AgentExchange, connects the org once and picks which groups get it. The beta is on all paid Claude plans. What it means for SMBs / MSPs: For Salesforce shops, the assistant is becoming the CRM's front end. Your sharing rules now decide what the AI can see.

Apple starts its Siri AI beta, built with Google Gemini models (Apple) The new Siri launched in English on custom models that Apple says it built in collaboration with Google Gemini. Simpler requests stay on the device, and harder ones go to Private Cloud Compute. It isn't shipping in the EU at launch, China is on hold, and some server features have daily limits. What it means for SMBs / MSPs: Staff iPhones are about to get a much more capable assistant that can see what's on screen, so review your mobile device and data policies now.

Perplexity brings its Portable Computer local agent to Windows (NVIDIA blog) The agent runs its model, orchestrator, scheduler and execution environment on an RTX GPU with at least 24GB of VRAM, and it asks permission before sending a task to cloud models. It requires a Perplexity Pro or Max subscription. What it means for SMBs / MSPs: A local agent with file access is now workable on one workstation for sensitive documents. The 24GB GPU is a real hardware cost, though, not a checkbox.

TypeSafe opens early access to Jev, a model that returns decisions instead of prose (TypeSafe AI) Jev takes input plus a schema you define and returns typed values with a confidence score. It answers in 70–500 ms and costs $0.042 per million input tokens, with no charge for output. Access is by waitlist, and the company launched on a $40 million seed round led by DCVC. What it means for SMBs / MSPs: Ticket triage, lead routing and document classification may not need a chat model at all.

OpenAI backs the FRONTIER Act's independent-audit provision (CBS News, Politico) OpenAI's Chris Lehane endorsed requiring independent organizations to audit safety practices at the largest AI developers, but OpenAI stopped short of endorsing the full House bill. CBS called it OpenAI's first support for a federal third-party assessment mandate. What it means for SMBs / MSPs: The rules would target frontier labs, not you, but vendor audit reports may soon become standard documents in procurement.

️ Tool or Feature to Try This Week

Salesforce in Claude, with a two-person pilot. It's for sales managers at Salesforce shops who already pay for Claude. Setup and a first test take about an hour once an admin approves it. Request access through AgentExchange, enable only a pilot group of two sellers, and have each one run call prep and a pipeline review on three real accounts. Leave write approval on and check each proposed CRM change by hand.

Put It to Work

Before turning on Salesforce in Claude, check who can see which accounts in Salesforce. Claude inherits each seller's existing Salesforce permissions, so any oversharing in roles and sharing rules shows up in AI answers. Stale records, duplicate contacts and empty fields make AI summaries wrong too. Fix the sharing rules first, and start with a small pilot group.

*For MSPs:* A fixed-fee permission and data-hygiene review fits naturally before the plugin goes on.

One Thing to Avoid

Quoting vendor speed multiples as fact. Jev's launch materials claim it is hundreds of times faster and cheaper than frontier models on the vendor's own workflows. The approach is promising, but benchmark it on your client's actual classification task before you put a number in a proposal.

Trend to Watch

Assistants are becoming the front door to systems of record. CRM inside Claude, a Siri that works across apps, local agents with file access: the pattern is that people stop opening the underlying app. The durable value moves to clean data, correct permissions and approval steps in the source system, because the assistant will faithfully surface whatever mess sits underneath.
