ChatGPT Doubles Work Limits on $100 Business Seats
OpenAI doubled the work allowance on its priciest ChatGPT plans, including $100 Business Premium seats, and Anthropic gave law firms a gallery of ready-made Claude tools for contracts and citations.
OpenAI doubles the work allowance on its top ChatGPT plans, Business Premium included (Windows Report, Crypto Briefing) On Thursday OpenAI doubled usage limits for ChatGPT Pro at $100, $200 and $500 a month and for Business Premium seats, effective right away, with no price change. The doubling applies to the shared allowance for ChatGPT Work and Codex, the parts that do longer jobs like filling forms and drafting proposals; the weekly cap on GPT-6 Pro messages in regular chat stays where it was. It also cancels a cut to the $200 Pro plan that subscribers were told would start after October 29. Plus subscribers get nothing new, and OpenAI didn't publish the new numbers. If you run the office, here's what that means: the expensive seat got better value, the cheap ones didn't change. Most of your team probably never hits a limit. The one or two who do are the only people worth moving up.
Claude for Legal gets a gallery of ready-made tools for contracts and citations (Anthropic, Artificial Lawyer, Harvey) On Wednesday Anthropic added a gallery of ready-to-use artifacts to Claude for Legal. An artifact here is a small working tool inside Claude, like a tracker or a table, that you load your own documents into. The set includes a contract review table that answers the same questions across a stack of contracts and shows the quote each answer came from, a citation checker and a tracker for new rules, plus tools built by firms like Goodwin and Foley & Lardner. Sharing settings keep teams walled off from each other's matters. Anthropic files it under its Enterprise offering and doesn't say whether smaller Team plans get it, so a six-lawyer office may not see it yet. The practical part for any small firm: the shape is the lesson. Claude does the first pass, every answer points back to the page, and a person decides.
Pull the numbers that matter out of a long PDF (Starter · 5 minutes)
Vendor quotes, leases and renewal notices bury the four things you care about: the price, the term, the renewal date and what it costs to leave. Attach the PDF to a new chat in your work account and ask for exactly those, with page numbers. It's the same trick as the law firm tools in today's news, scaled down to one document.
> From this document, list: the total price, how it's billed, the term and the renewal date, how to cancel and what it costs, and anything unusual. For each one, say which page it's on. If something isn't in the document, say so.
ChatGPT and Copilot can read PDFs too.
What good looks like: a short list with page numbers, and "not in the document" where something is missing. Avoid: signing based on the summary alone. Use it to know where to look, then read those pages yourself.
Two seats, about $200 a month: a ChatGPT Business Premium seat costs $125 a person a month, or $100 on annual billing, according to OpenAI. So upgrading the two people who actually live in ChatGPT Work runs about $200 a month on the annual plan (2 × $100), while everyone else stays on the seat they have. Before you do it, ask those two one question: "When did you last run out, and what were you doing?" If the answer is "never" or "once in September," keep your money. If it's "every Thursday when I do the quotes," that's the seat that pays for itself.
Try the PDF tip on one renewal this week. Pick the next vendor contract or software renewal on your desk, the one with the date you'd rather not miss, and run the prompt on it. Put the renewal date and the cancel terms on the office calendar, then check those two lines on the page yourself. Five minutes now beats an auto-renewal you didn't want.
Where it's going: AI plans are splitting into a cheap seat for everyone and a heavy seat for the few who do the long jobs, so the businesses that know who those few are will spend less and get more.
