New Copilot Business seats bought through a Microsoft partner come with pay-as-you-go billing on from Dec. 1
Starting Dec. 1, Microsoft will set up usage-based billing in advance on new Microsoft 365 Copilot Business subscriptions bought through a Microsoft partner, Topedia reported, after Microsoft moved the date from Nov. 2. That lets licensed users run pay-as-you-go features such as Copilot Cowork right away, billed on top of the license. An administrator should review the spending settings and change them as needed.
Why it matters to a business like yours
If your IT partner orders a Copilot seat for a new hire after Dec. 1, that person could start running paid agent jobs, like building a crew schedule or drafting a stack of quotes, without anyone signing off. Before then, ask your IT partner to set a monthly spending limit you agree with.
