Give Claude your price sheet once, in a Project

The job: Get quotes and answers that use your real prices and policies

A Project is a workspace in Claude with its own instructions and files. Put your price sheet, service area and policies in one, and every chat inside it already knows them. Projects are on every Claude plan, including free accounts, which can make up to five.

How

  1. Create a Project called something like "Quotes and customer questions."
  2. Add your price sheet and policies as files, and write short instructions, like "Always quote from the price sheet and never promise a date."
  3. Start new chats inside that Project when you write quotes or answer customers.

The prompt to copy

Using our price sheet, draft a quote for: [the job]. Show the line items and flag anything that isn't on the price sheet.

What a good answer looks like

A quote built from your numbers, with anything off-sheet flagged instead of invented.

The mistake to avoid

Forgetting to update the files when prices change. Put a date in the file name so you notice.

ChatGPT has its own Projects that work much the same way.
