Ask for twenty ideas, then have it pick three
The job: Get past the first obvious idea for a promotion, name or event
The first few ideas anyone comes up with, person or AI, are the obvious ones. Ask for a long list, then have Claude pick the three that fit your business best and say why. The list gets you past the obvious; the pick saves you sorting through all twenty.
The prompt to copy
Give me twenty ideas for [filling slow weekday afternoons at my shop / thanking repeat customers / naming our winter special]. Make them different from each other, and include a few unusual ones. Then pick the three that best fit [our business, our size and our budget] and say why in one line each.
What a good answer looks like
A list with a few surprises in it, and three picks you could start on this week.
The mistake to avoid
Taking its top three as the final word. Skim the whole list; your favorite may be one it ranked lower.
Works the same in ChatGPT and Copilot.
